Welcome to Human Threshold Systems:
An Interdisciplinary Journal of Cognitive Proximetry.

Our scope is those threshold systems found in the humanites and social sciences, particularly new developments in the psychologies of Clare Graves and C. G. Jung, and application of those developments.

Threshold systems are those where a significant developmental change occurs after a quality increases or decreases to a threshold level. These include developmental changes in individuals, in social groupings, in cultures and in societies.

Cognitive Proximetry is the geometry of interacting cognitive processes that trigger threshold events when in proximity to each other. Interacting cognitive processes as simple as conversation, or as complex as the media and the internet have the potential to thrust individuals and societies over the threshold into a new and challenging(or older and less threatening) world view.

We accept academic articles, narratives, and teaching tools that contribute to the overview of Threshold Systems in:

If you are new to the topic of Human Threshold Systems, or have only read or heard small bits and pieces, the best place to start is at the beginning, It is, after all, a cumulative construct -- each idea building on those that came before. We suggest you start in our General Overview section -- with the
Introduction to Graves & Jung Model, and The Big Picture: A Post-Jungian Map of Global Cinema then continue down the list. There is a link to the next article in sequence at the bottom of each page.
